Rainy days in Salzburg – Unipark Library

What to do on a Rainy day? – Unipark Library

Our first recommendation is for those rainy days, when you do not feel like being to active but still have something you should be doing. But as you know, doing this at home makes Netflix and other things way to tempting, so we recommend going to the library!

As FH students living in Salzburg our nice little FH library is a bit inconvenient, therefore we want to recommend the library of the university of Salzburg in the Unipark. It is big, comfortable and offers great views. One of the highlights is the lounge area, in which you can sit on the stairs and get daylight from above through the windows over the stairs.

Where is it?

It is in the Unipark Nonntal, Erzabt-Klotz-Straße 1 in the Nonntal district. You can find it in the basement of the university building.

How to get there?

You can easily access the library by foot or bicycle, if the rain is not too strong. If it is raining cats and dogs, we recommend the bus line 20, which goes directly to the Unipark from the Europark. Other bus stops close by are Justizgebäude and Petersbrunnhof (Line 5 and 25), Hellbrunnerstraße and Akademistraße (Line 3 and 8).

Why is this spot perfect for rainy days?

As you and your books do not want to get wet, it is the best idea to grab your favourite book or discover new books in the library. You can get a seat close to the window and read while listening to the rain drops. Also, the library offers perfect concentration and everything you need for a productive study session or a (last-minute) report writing session.

What else can you do there?

If you are lucky and the sun comes out after you finished your report or book, you can go out to the rooftop, where you can find the Café Unikum Sky that offers great views and reasonable prices. Watch the video, what else our testers liked doing in the library 😉

What to bring?

Depends on what you need to do, could be a book, your laptop (+ charger) and of course your umbrella for the way to the library!
