What is Saalbach and how to get there:
Saalbach is located in the region of Pinzgau in the south-west of Salzburger Land. Due to the association of Saalbach Hinterglemm with Leogang and Fieberbrunn the ski resort has created a true mecca for skiing in Austria. Simply said – Saalbach is the “home of lässig” for ski fans. The ski area is easy to reach by car and also by train. From Salzburg city it takes about one and a half hours by car on the federal highway. For a more sustainable arrival Saalbach can also easily be reached by bus from the train station in Zell am See Kaprun. With a valid ski pass, the public transports are free in the region.
When and what in “Home of Lässig“
During the season the cable cars are open every day between 8.30 a.m. and 9.00 a.m. depending on the cable-cars location and are closing at around 4 o’clock p.m. The Skicircus offers skiing pleasure at the highest quality and is considered one of the largest and best ski areas in Austria with 270 kilometers of slopes. Beginners, families and experts have 140 km of blue, 112 km of red and 18 km of black runs at their disposal. The whole ski region is connected with 70 modern cable-cars to each other.
Must do for good skiers – skicircus skirun

If you take small breaks into account, it is a full-day tour, which is probably the longest of its kind in the entire Alpine region. But also other skiruns are very impressive in the skiregion. For example the “Saalbach-Runde” which includes the famous slope of the world championship in 1991 or the “Tirol- Runde” where you ski in two Austrian federal states – Salzburg and Tyrol.

From traditional skihuts, to international DJs playing whilst you are enjoying your food or great architectural mountain huts- in Saalbach you can find everything. A good hint for your after-ski enjoyment is definitely “Hendlfischerei” on top of Asitzbahn.
