In the first part, we mentioned that Mönchsberg has beautiful natural spots. Besides nature, Mönchsberg offers different facilities such as a museum der moderne, Restaurant M32, and even a Hotel. For those who are interested in playing Football, there is also a Football ground on the top of Mönchsberg. Mönchsberg is ideal not just for hiking but also for mountain biking. In addition, on the way up, there is a small playground to boulder. Hence, It offers a wide range of activities that can be performed.
So how to hike up the Mönchsberg?
You can hike up from the southeast side i.e Nonnenberggasse, from the east i.e Toskaninihof or from the north via the müllner schanze. There are other possible ways, however, we chose to hike up via the müllner schanze and hike down via Toskaninihof (stairway). In this way, you can make a round hike trip with a spectacular view of the fortress and the city of salzburg.
